The Tom James 1961 Shirt Collection

Celebrating a Golden Legacy of Quality Shirt Making

Menu

The Tom James custom shirt business is Golden!  Our primary shop for tailoring one-of-a-kind custom shirts is celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2011!

To give more perspective to the occasion, you will recall that it in 1961 John F. Kennedy was sworn in as the 35th President of the United States. That same year, Alan Shepard was the first American in space aboard the Mercury-Redstone 3, Roger Maris hit 61 home runs and the novel “Catch-22” was published.

In honor and celebration of 50 years in the custom shirt business, our designers have reached back into our archives and developed a unique collection of fabrics based on the designs that were used in our seminal year of 1961. The "1961 Collection" features designs and colorations created that year, updated with the exceptional quality of 2011 weaving, finishing and construction technology. Mini graph checks, Tattersals, and retro stripes are featured in this iconic collection.

Tom James will issue three seperate releases from the "1961 Collection", with the final set coming in early autumn. These limited edition releases commemorating our Golden Anniversary have not been seen in 50 years, so schedule a tailor today before they are gone forever!
